Learn Excel: Formulas and functions basics

You will need either Microsoft Excel installed on your computer, or a Microsoft account (sign up here, you'll then have access to the free, web version of Excel).

If you’re new to Microsoft Excel, formulas and functions may feel like a completely different language. Don’t worry- I’m here to translate! In this workshop, you’ll learn some of the top ways to boost your efficiency on Microsoft Excel in an interactive and supportive learning environment.

During this workshop, we will:

  • Learn how to write a basic formula
  • Learn the most commonly used Excel functions are and how to incorporate them into formulas (functions covered in this workshop are Sum, Count, CountA, Average, Min, Max, Today, Now, DatedIf, Upper, Lower, Proper)
  • Explore how formulas and functions can be used to drive efficiencies and minimize errors in the workplace
  • Practice using formulas and functions to solidify our understanding

After the workshop, you will have learned:

  • Useful features on Microsoft Excel that can help you work smarter immediately
