The survey found that 51 percent of respondents from organizations with strong coaching cultures reported revenue above that of their industry peer group, and 62 percent of employees in those organizations rated themselves as highly engaged.

Developing your people

For everyone
For managers
1h15

As a manager, it’s your responsibility to enable your reports to be on a growth trajectory in their role and career. Helping your people grow not only helps them attain their personal professional goals but also benefits the company. There are many books, articles, and other resources that explain tactics to help develop each of your employees, however, everyone is unique, and a one-size-fits-all approach will not set you and your employees up for success.

This is a hands-on workshop where participants will be able to discuss in small groups how they currently work to develop their employees, where they excel as managers, and where they fall short.

During this workshop, we will:

  • Explore what it means to develop your employees and why it’s important for them to grow, as well as for the company
  • Separate the HOW from the WHY, and understand why they’re different concepts
  • Discover tactics (HOW) to fulfill the WHY

After the workshop, you will have learned:

  • Tools to identify each of your reports’ ambition for growth (WHY) and how to help them get on that path (HOW)

Feedback is critical to our success and growth, so why is it so hard to do effectively? Because emotions are always at play in the world of work. During this workshop, we will:

  • Explore a framework for effective feedback giving combining both structure and delivery approaches
  • Explore how to receive feedback to improve working relationships while being true to ourselves
  • Manage our emotions and the emotions of others in a feedback session

After the workshop, you will have learned:

  • How to ensure feedback is usable
  • How to ask for feedback that will actually help you

Transitioning from individual contributor to manager

For everyone
For managers
1h30

We usually get promoted because we're really good at being an individual contributor. But, here's the thing - all of the skills that made you a great IC won't make you a great manager. In fact, they can often get in the way. You get one chance to nail the first 90 days with your new team. This workshop equips newly promoted managers with a strategy for releasing control, holding teams accountable, and developing sustainable processes.

What is management and why is it important?

Managers are the cultural custodians of an organization, and they are often the primary reason why people stay or leave. A great manager makes all the difference in a person’s performance, and as an effective manager, we can affect true change and growth in the business. A smooth transition also impacts our own well being by giving us focus, courage, and clarity.

During this workshop, we will:

  • Explore the 4 key shifts we need to make to be an effective manager
  • Discover tools for effective 1:1s and performance reviews
  • Build a 90 day success plan to get your team back on track or make a great impression with your new team

After the workshop, you will have learned:

  • A repeatable framework for coaching in 1:1s and performance reviews
  • A process for growing your team every quarter
  • Tactics to shift your perspective making you more effective
